About the Authors

 
 

Evin Daly

Evin Daly is a specialist in child abuse and domestic violence prevention and protection systems, child welfare systems and an adviser on their development and management. As an analyst of violent and criminal behaviors with emphasis on the victimization of women and children, he has worked extensively with victims, families, and perpetrators of child abuse and domestic violence. Mr. Daly is a court recognized forensic interviewer of children who have been physically and sexually abused. Mr. Daly is the founder and CEO of an international child protection agency that provides child protection resources to the public and professionals worldwide. He has been the Chief Operating Officer of a Florida based full-case-management child welfare agency which was responsible for upward of 1,500 children in the dependency system. He writes and lectures on issues relating to child abuse and domestic violence. Since 2005, Mr. Daly has been a volunteer Guardian ad Litem where he represents the best interests of abused, abandoned, and neglected children in court (West Palm Beach and Miami, Florida). He is also an independent Guardian ad Litem in family court specializing in domestic violence cases. John E. Wright, MD, FAAP

John has been practicing pediatrics in Fort Lauderdale since 1987. He has been serving as Medical Director of the Broward County Child Protection Team from 1987 to 1991 and from 1999 to present. He has lectured at many national and international conferences on the subject of Child Abuse and Neglect. Dr. Wright trained at the University of Miami School of Medicine and did pediatric internship and residency there. He has won teaching awards from the University of Miami Department of Pediatrics. He is an Affiliate Assistant Professor of Clinical Biomedical Science at Florida Atlantic University/Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine, and he teaches medical students, nurse practitioner students and family practice residents from Nova South East School of Osteopathic Medicine and from Florida Atlantic University. Dr. Wright has published and lectures on various subjects including parenting, pediatric and adolescent preventive health, obesity, domestic violence, child sexual abuse, child maltreatment/mental health, child physical abuse, medical neglect, high conflict divorce/custody disputes, medical child abuse, and many other subjects. He is board certified in general pediatrics and child abuse pediatrics. He has also served as chairman of the department of pediatrics at Broward General Medical Center and is the current and past chair of the department of pediatrics at Holy Cross Hospital. He is past president of the Broward County Pediatric Society. He is the recipient of several awards including the Arnold Melnick Child Advocacy Award from Nova College of Osteopathic Medicine, and “Mr. Mom” from Broward County Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies.
